Rotarians across Region 36 - Zones 25B and 29 unite for the World’s Largest Polio Walk and are on track to raise more than $1.2 million to help eradicate polio worldwide.

On October 24, 2026, Rotary members and community supporters across Zones 25B and 29 came together to mark World Polio Day and demonstrate what is possible when people unite for a common purpose.

Across 16 districts, 444 Rotary clubs, and seven states, Rotarians organized walks, rallied their communities, raised awareness, and encouraged donations to support Rotary’s decades-long commitment to ending polio.

From neighborhood walks and community parks to larger organized events, clubs found creative ways to bring people together around a cause that continues to demand global attention and action. See photos.

A Collective Impact That Matters

The impact of this region-wide effort is extraordinary. Together, our Zones are on track to raise more than $1.2 million in support of the fight to eradicate polio.

These funds will help support the global effort to protect children from this preventable disease and move us closer to a polio-free world. Through Rotary’s partnership with the Gates Foundation, eligible contributions to polio eradication are matched 2-to-1, multiplying the impact of Rotary members’ generosity.

But the World’s Largest Polio Walk was about more than fundraising. It was an opportunity to raise awareness, engage community members, celebrate Rotary’s commitment to service, and remind the world that the fight against polio is not over.

United for a Polio-Free World

Every walker, every donation, every club, and every community played a part in this collective effort. Across seven states, Rotarians showed what happens when local action becomes a regional movement.

World Polio Day reminds us of both how far we have come and how much remains to be done. Rotary has helped bring the world closer than ever to eradicating polio, and our members remain committed to finishing the job.

Together, we are walking toward a world where no child ever has to suffer from polio. Together, we can End Polio Now!

Thank you to every Rotary club, district leader, volunteer, sponsor, donor, and community supporter who helped make this effort possible. Your commitment brings us one step closer to a polio-free world.
